How to Tame a Wild Tongue

The author spoke a lot of the same language and she grew up knowing many different variations of Spanish. People in different parts of Mexico and the U.S. spoke a different kind of Spanish. When the author was young she got in trouble for speaking in another language other than English. She spoke Spanish to his family, people at school. media and at work but each was a certain variation of Spanish. Some of the kids were told that their language was wrong, and when they came close to someone who spoke the same language it was hard to know if it was alright to speak. They were afraid to talk to a different type of Hispanic because they were afraid of being told that the way they speak is not the way to speak. The author is only hurt when her language in made fun of, and until she can be proud of his language she cannot be proud of himself. Although the author does  have other ways of keeping in touch with his homeland, and it's through the culture it's smells the foods remind her of his identity. The real struggle is the borders between the identities,and one day they will no longer exist then the true integration will take place.
